The Reitz Home
This
exquisite French Second Empire style home was built in 1871 by a wealthy
lumber baron. The 17-room residence features handsome architectural details,
ornate plasterwork, intricately designed parquet floors, glorious stained
glass windows and hand painted ceilings. The Historic Reitz Home is located
in the heart of the Riverside Historic District and serves as the centerpiece
of the neighborhood. A lavish annual Victorian Christmas display is held
between Thanksgiving and Christmas with extended hours. 224 S.E. First Street,
