Mesker Zoo
A
walk through Mesker Park Zoo takes the visitor from the veldt of Africa to
the Asian plains to the North American forest. Most of the animals live in
large, open exhibits that portray their native environment. The zoo, located
on 70 acres of rolling hills, is home to more than 700 animals. Also offered
are a petting zoo, zoo train, paddleboats, and a unique children's playground.
St. Joseph Avenue to Belmont Avenue, 428-0715. Open 363 days a year, 9 a.m.
- 4 p.m. Extended hours on summer weekends. Closed Christmas and New Year's.
