Angel Mounds State Historic Site





 Angel Mounds is the site of a large, prehistoric Native American town which existed on the banks of the Ohio River from approximately 1250 to 1450 A.D. Occupied by Middle Mississippian Indians, the site's Central Mound is one of the largest prehistoric structures in the Eastern United States. The interpretive center houses numerous exhibits on Indian culture and a depiction of an actual archaeological excavation at the site. 8215 Pollack Avenue, 853-3956.
